Kelly Clarkson has taste

In searching for live clips of the Black Keys, I stumbled upon Kelly Clarkson's cover of the tune "Lies" off of 'Attack and Release'.

It's got a lot of the soul and longing that the original had, but it's a little slower than bearable.

  1. I love "The Black Keys" and this is one of my favorite songs of theirs. Clarkson's version is pretty cool, and I think she did the song justice. WOW, I never realized she had a voice like that. I really liked the acapela beginning, and she hit some perfectly clear high ass notes too.

  2. Yeah, i'm pretty surprised by her song choice. It's always interesting to know the artist's music taste.

The thing about Clarkson that's difficult for me to get over is the fact that she's a performer and not a writer. She has never written a tune on her own and I'm not entirely sure if that's enough for me!
